I guess it’s not exactly a fill in the blank. But, because I’m neck deep in all this business strategy/goal setting stuff I’m going to try to set out some guidelines, goals, and thoughts about this blog. Here we go.
What it’s not going to be:
1. A news update about what’s going on with 4+1 Productions. If you care enough to know that, drop an email and you’ll get it. Or follow me on twitter (that’s right, I tweet) and you’ll get the idea (boooring).
2. A specialized blog about a hobby. I have plenty of hobbies, but not enough expertise to go into any one of them.
3. A place for me to rant, rave, or spout my ill-informed, too-strong-for-their-own-good opinions about whatever subject might come up.
What it is going to be:
1. A place where my less financially viable, yet essential to my soul, creative projects can land. This will most often come in the form of creative writings (short), photography, filmed/videotaped scenes/shorts/spec ads?/webisodes?. Maybe some scenes from screenplays, or staged readings from the Acting Workshops. Could be anything really, you’ll just have to wait and see.
2. Me presenting to you the things that shape me as a person. Books, movies, blogs, photos, music, etc. This is a sticky matter, and I’m going into it knowing that. There can be strong dissenting opinions, I’m hoping to avoid the worst of it. I’m all for voices of dissent, this is mostly the stuff I couldn’t forgive myself for not telling you about. Don’t worry, I’ll leave my love of Salinger, Wes Anderson, and Wilco off the blog. This won’t be a “see how cool I am” list. It will hopefully be some stuff you’re not familiar with. Consider it a sitting-around-the-campfire-listening-to-me-expound-endlessly sort of experience. It’s about the message not the messenger.
3. Links. A bit of the usual, point you in the direction of something I found today sort of fare. Whether that’s a bag I would kill for, a bike that I’m drooling over, or some interesting reading.
4. Dodgers. This won’t be a regular daily Dodgers blog, that’s being covered plenty well. But I’ll write often enough to make this it’s own category. Plenty of love for Manny, Ethier, and Martin coming your way.
5. Occasional correspondence pieces to spice it up.
6. Occasional running series’ that aim to innovate using the blog.
GOAL OF BLOG: To entertain through stories, written and visual.
It won’t be newsy, educaty (not a word), or overly informative. But it will be fun.
