Nothing better than a little Velvet Underground for a rainy, muggy Friday. Going to start you off with Temptation Inside of Your Heart. I love how they’re talking throughout the song. Evidently Lou Reed and Sterling Morrison were in the booth to do the dooo-do-do’s, talked up a storm during the recording. When the went to mix it they just left it in there. I guess that’s what you can do when you’re Lou Reed:

Second, a song I love featuring the vocals of drummer Mo Tucker (that’s short for Maureen). She sings this song and After Hours which are both dear to my heart due to the purity in her voice. After drumming for The Velvet Underground, Mo went on to be a stay-at-home mother. Could you imagine if your mother was the drummer of one of the great rock bands of the late 60’s and early 70’s?
